Main Sections
- Historical Recreation and Re-enactment
- historical re-enactment and recreation are in their infancy in Spain so this page is an introduction to the concept of living history in its different facets and insterpretations and an invitation to come forth and get something going. In Spanish, only.
- Canary islands - Notes on the history of the islands - still quite green, actually. There's also a section devoted to the group we're trying to set-up. In Spanish unless otherwise stated (see below).
- SCA stuff - basically translations of terms and some basic info, In Spanish.
- Links related to the Medieval and Renaissance periods, listed by categories. In Spanish but most linked pages are in English, anyway.
- Mediterranean Cookery - recipes from 15th and 16th centuries - almost completely translated in to English (all the recipes are, anyway) In English!
- Dance - some information on early dance (of the 15th and 16th centuries). There's not much and most of it is Spanish, but there are lots of resources in English - you won't be missing much
- Arms and armour -
Spanish translations of English-language webbed articles.
- Medieval Dress -
mostly links with comments, arranged into several different themes in separate pages. In Spanish but contains many links to images and pages in English (and sometimes other languages)
- Mindset and lifestyles
- Lots of projects here, like studying different aspects of 15th c. life. But for now just a humour article on etiquette (attributed to Leonardo da Vinci) and collections of tidbits on medieval cats.
- Names of the Middle Ages and Rennaisance. In English!
- Heraldry. In English!
- Cantigas de Santa Maria - some cantiga texts. Hopefully this will come back to life one day.
Other bits at this site
- Guestbook - The fields are in Spanish, but surely you are clever enough to outguess them! Fear not! :)
- "Historia Viva" Mailing List - A bunch of us come here and exchange tips and dream of having greater groups, or just groups... The official language is Spanish but there's the odd Portuguese speaker around. If you can guess what we write and write back in Spanish or Portuguese in recognizable form you can be one of us, too! Otherwise there are better places for an English-speaker to hang around, like:
- Medieval Spain: mainly SCA members but quite focused on Spain and open to people from other persuasions. Covers up to 1600. In English!
- Authenticity: little traffic, but good. Has both SCA and other members. In English!
- Authentic SCA: much chattier but with some good stuff. For SCA members and SCA-friendly people. In English!
